Kate Griffiths has been a skilful and insightful coach for me during a very formative period as a senior manager. She’s been attentive and challenging, a sounding board and guide through very complex issues and times. Kate worked quickly and purposefully to build a relationship with me as her client and there was a real focus to our sessions together.
Some of Kate’s most powerful coaching interventions have been to give me feedback on what was unsaid and to bring blind spots out of the fog. I have found this to be hugely effective in building my confidence to give others feedback on complex and personal issues. My confidence as a senior manager has grown.

The Organisation Workshop was an important milestone in the evolution of our organisation’s leadership and learning culture. Here, on a large scale, we got to the heart of the matter: what’s holding back our search for better collaboration across the structure and better partnership between levels? The Workshop enabled us to understand better how to communicate with greater authenticity, to fully own our point of view, and to see more clearly what gets in the way of clean language. Middle managers saw how their failure to act with independence can lead to frustration and procrastination and senior managers saw how their tendency to ‘soak it all up’ simply dampens their creativity and disempowers everyone else.
The event was managed with a great attention to detail and a real sense of flexibility to what was emerging. In particular, the TOOTS (Time Out Of Time) provided participants with the chance to practice reviewing their working practices. We’ve taken this into our everyday practice since.
Our middle management tier was able to follow up the main event with a further half-day of reflection and discussion. They are a rejuvenated team who now meet with greater purpose and increasingly self-organising. They’re turning their latent sense of being mobilised into real action!
The senior team has benefited too. The Workshop gave us a common language to talk about how we are behaving and responding. We’ve also addressed our strategic planning processes, to make these more inclusive and more open.
The Organisation Workshop was much more than simply a day to ‘step back’ and see the wider picture. It was a day to step forward and be bold!
